HASTINGS — Dangerous heat index values are forecast to arrive across the region on Saturday, with above normal temperatures looking to continue on into at least the first half of the new week.
Saturday is forecast to be the most widespread, overall-hottest day, with heat index values of 105-110 degrees forecast. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for the southeastern half of the area, and a Heat Advisory for the northwest half. Winds will be on the lighter side thanks to a weak frontal boundary moving through. Speeds of less than 10 MPH will be possible.
The Excessive Heat Warning for the southeastern half of the area continues on through Wednesday, due to the potential for heat index values each day near 105 degrees.
