Firefighters responded to a grass fire Thursday evening on Interstate 80 near Kearney.
Kearney Volunteer Firefighters responded to a grass fire in the median between mile marker 277 and 275 on I-80 westbound. Firefighters were also extinguishing a fire in the westbound ditch near Bufflehead Wildlife Management Area.
KVFD received assistance from the Gibbon Volunteer Fire Department. The Nebraska State Patrol, and Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene.
