KEARNEY — The Kearney Area Community Foundation recently awarded a total of $28,500 in Arthur Klinkacek Community Enrichment Grants to three local nonprofits.
• $25,000 was awarded to the City of Gibbon to renovate approximately 6,000 square feet of an existing building to create a Gibbon Community Center.
• $2,000 was awarded to Classic Car Collection to purchase new security equipment and/or a new security system.
• $1,500 was awarded to Ravenna Trap to help build a covered structure with a cement floor to protect spectators and equipment from weather and for a speaker system.
The Arthur Klinkacek Community Enrichment Fund was started after Arthur E. Klinkacek left a gift of more than $2 million to the Kearney Area Community Foundation from his estate to help communities and youth in the Kearney area for years to come.
The Arthur Klinkacek Community Enrichment Fund typically grants funds to projects or programs in the Kearney area and surrounding communities. Grants are made to nonprofit, federally tax-exempt 501(c)(3) qualified organizations, or organizations delivering a project or program which have a fiscal relationship with a qualified charity.
The Arthur Klinkacek Community Enrichment Fund’s grant cycle is triannual with deadlines of March 1, July 1 and November 1 (until further notice). To view guidelines, pre-apply or for more information, please visit www.kearneyfoundation.org/klinkacek.
