KEARNEY – The 2023 non-conference opponents for UNK Women’s Basketball were officially listed Thursday morning.
UNK will start their year on Nov. 10 facing the University of Minnesota-Crookston, followed by a Saturday matchup at Southwest Minnesota State as part of the NSIC/MIAA Challenge in Marshall, Minn.
The Lopers return home and open the Health & Sports Center on Tuesday, Nov. 14 against Central Christian (Kan.). That contest leads into a Saturday matchup against Nebraska Wesleyan on Nov. 18.
The final week of the non-conference slate features the Lopers competing at home against the College of Saint Mary on Wednesday, Nov. 22 with another Saturday matchup facing long-time rival Chadron State on Nov. 25.
Prior to the start of the non-conference season, UNK heads to the CHI Health Center in Omaha for an exhibition with Creighton on Monday, Oct. 30.
The Lopers open their conference schedule at Rogers State on Thursday, Nov. 30 followed by a trip to Tahlequak, Okla. against Northeastern State on Saturday, Dec. 2.
UNK aims to replace a group of record-breaking seniors that showcased one of the most prolific eras of Loper Women’s Basketball – as well as welcomin in new coach Drew Johnson who was named the next head coach after the departure of Carrie Eighmey to Idaho.
