LOPER VOLLEYBALL RECLAIMS ATTENDANCE RECORD:
The UNK Volleyball program set their sights high, and reached their ultimate goal of reclaiming the Division II regular season attendance record.
On Wednesday night, hosting in-state foe Peru State, the University of Nebraska at Kearney volleyball broke the attendance record for a regular season matchup in Division II volleyball with a mark of 4,003.
This breaks the mark broken by Alaska-Anchorage last November with a crowd of 3,888. The capacity crowd finishes fourth all time in Loper Volleyball attendance history.
The record comes a week after the Loper Volleyball program attended Volleyball Day in Nebraska, as the event became the largest attending women’s sporting event in world history with 92,003 at Lincoln’s Memorial Stadium.
UNK won the matchup in three sets, and now sets their sights to Colorado Springs for their final non-conference tournament of the season.

Loper Volleyball shattered the attendance record for a Division II regular season matchup in the contest, as UNK heads to Colorado Springs this weekend for their final non-conference tournament.
HUSKER VOLLEYBALL CLAIMS STATE TITLE; HANDLE BLUEJAYS AT HOME:
The No. 4 Nebraska volleyball team claimed a 3-1 win over No. 16 Creighton on Wednesday night in front of a crowd of 8,656, a Bob Devaney Sports Center record crowd since the arena was reconfigured for volleyball in 2013.
Merritt Beason had a team-high 17 kills with seven digs and three blocks, and Lindsay Krause finished with 12 kills on .478 hitting with three blocks. The Huskers (6-0) hit .305 for the match and held the Bluejays (5-2) to .109 on the night.
Nebraska became the final NCAA team to lose a set this season, falling 25-23 in Set 3.
Nebraska hosts Long Beach State at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
