Hastings Community Theatre continues its 64th season with Seussical the Musical. Get ready to embark on a whimsical journey through the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss. This beloved production, filled with catchy tunes and colorful characters, is set to enchant audiences of all ages.
Seussical the Musical has captured the hearts of theatergoers worldwide with its enchanting story, memorable music and delightful characters inspired by the timeless works of Dr. Suess. This production boasts an exceptional cast of talented performers who bring Dr. Seuss’s beloved characters to life with energy and charm. Audiences can expect to see familiar faces like the mischievous Cat in the Hat, the kind-hearted Horton the Elephant, the brave Gertrude McFuzz, the tiny Whos of Whoville and many more iconic characters from the pages of Dr. Seuss’s books. Join these beloved characters as they transport you to the fantastic worlds of Whoville, the Jungle of Nool and beyond.
HCT presents Seussical the Musical! on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on November 10th, 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th and 19th. Performances on Fridays & Saturdays are at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:30pm. Hastings Community Theatre is located in the Good Samaritan Village, 515 S 4th Ave, Hastings. Tickets are $20.00 for adults and $18.00 for Seniors/Students. Tickets are currently available online at www.hctheatre.org. Tickets will also be available at the door on performance nights until sold out.

A cast of HCT veterans, both kids and adults, will headline the show including Dustin Velasquez as Horton, Amanda Cargile as the Cat in the Hat, Abby Jabs as JoJo and Morwenna Limper as Mayzie La Bird. The cast boasts several newcomers, including Sara Shirley as Gertrude McFuzz and Hal Smith as the Grinch.
Seussical is directed and choreographed by Colin Sandall (Putnam County Spelling Bee, Sweeney Todd, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder) with musical direction by Erik Nielsen (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Mamma Mia, Tintypes, Evil Dead, the Musical). This creative team behind the production has worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail reflects the spirit and charm of Seuss’s stories. The result is a delightful musical extravaganza that celebrates the magic of imagination and the importance of believing in oneself.
