KEARNEY – The victim of a fatal trailer home fire in Amherst has been identified.
According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, the victim has been identified as 68-year-old Raymond R. Juhl of Amherst, NE. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
On Oct. 5, law enforcement, the Amherst Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue and EMS responded to a fire call at 13015 Amherst Rd. Upon arrival, a trailer home was seen fully engulfed in flames. The body of an adult was found dead inside the trailer home. A preliminary investigation indicated that foul play is not suspected in the death.
The Amherst Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and deputies were assisted by members of the Kearney Police Department, Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office, and Buffalo County Attorney’s Office.
