KEARNEY — This month, Forward Kearney, a collaboration between the Development Council for Buffalo County, Kearney Visitors Bureau, and Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce will break ground for a new $5.3M, 12,000 square foot building that will house all three community organizations by 2025. The team of architects for the project are Wilkins ADP and Goodlife Architecture along with Chief Construction serving as the construction manager.

Forward Kearney invites the entire community to celebrate this milestone at a Groundbreaking Celebration on Monday, Oct. 30. The event will take place at 1 p.m. at the building site, located on the southwest corner of Talmadge Street and 11th Avenue in southwest Kearney, directly east of the Kearney SportsPlex site. Due to ongoing construction in the area, guests are asked to park northwest of the Crowne Plaza where buses will be providing transportation to and from the construction site. Handicap parking is available along 11th Avenue and attendees needing access to such parking are asked to enter at the intersection of Talmadge Street and 10th Avenue. General event parking along Talmadge Street is not permitted.

In addition to modern offices and private collaborative meeting space, the new building will house a large training room, a board room, and a premier welcome center that will truly be the front door to Kearney and the Platte River Valley. Over 75% of the funds have been raised for this project with support from the three partner organizations, the City of Kearney, Buffalo County, and individual gifts from Kearney area businesses.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at Younes Conference Center North, Silver Ballroom 7. For more information or questions about this ceremony, please contact:
