AXTELL — At approximately 2:55 a.m., Tuesday morning, October 31, the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Burlington Northern Railroad of an unknown object near the tracks of 27 Road and Highway 6.
Law enforcement responded and located a deceased male.
The investigation showed the male was a passenger on the eastbound Amtrak. Minden, Nebraska Police Department, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Police, and Amtrak Police assisted in the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing, and no foul play was indicated. Identification was made with a driver’s license located on the deceased.
Pending notification of the next of kin before any other information is released.
