ODESSA — A semi-trailer tip-over took place west of Odessa during the morning hours of Monday, Nov. 20 and sent one person to the hospital.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, around 6:30 a.m., an Estes semi-trailer was westbound on Interstate 80, three miles west of Odessa, when it appeared to have partially entered the median.

The semi returned to the left westbound lane when it tipped over on its driver’s side.

There were two occupants in the semi at the time of the accident and seat belts were in use. The NSP said that one of the occupants was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation by the NSP, but weather is believed to have played a factor.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation and the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.
