LINCOLN – Most media conferences leading into the potential final week of the season are more subdued – student-athletes talk generically about their final opponent, speak vaguely about their potential futures, and avoid questions regarding their plans after the season.
But not on Tuesday morning; at least not for defensive lineman Ty Robinson of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Robinson – who earned a coveted single-digit uniform for the season as he was one of the ten Huskers selected as the “toughest” on the team – announced he will return for the Blackshirts in 2024. The defensive lineman has already received his college degree, but earned an extra year of eligibility due to his COVID season granted by the NCAA.
Robinson has played in every game so far this season, starting ten contests. The senior leader enters the final game of the regular season with 27 total tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, and a team-high nine quarterback hurries.
Robinson added that an additional season will help him “sharpen some tools and skills” in his pursuit of an NFL career.
