LINCOLN- A Grand Island man was sentenced to 50 months for methamphetamine charges.
In federal court Felix Chacon, 61, of Grand Island, NE was sentenced to 50 months’ imprisonment for distribution of methamphetamine. After serving his sentence, Chacon will begin a 5-year term of supervised release.
In February 2018, Chacon sold methamphetamine to an informant two separate times. In total, Chacon sold 57 grams of actual or pure methamphetamine. The purchases were recorded by police. Chacon pleaded guilty to his offense on August 30, 2023. In addition, Chacon’s sentencing included an enhancement for obstruction of justice after failing to appear for trial July 26, 2021 following his release from custody after his initial arrest.
The case was investigated by the Trident Drug Task Force. The members of that task force include the Grand Island Police Department, Hall County Sheriff’s Department, Kearney Police Department, Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department, Hastings Police Department, Adams County Sheriff’s Department, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
