KEARNEY — CHI Health Clinic Heart Institute in Kearney welcomes two board certified interventional cardiologists to its staff. Dr. Hemang Panchal and Dr. John Waters specialize in the diagnosis and management of diseases of the heart and blood vessels using catheter-based procedures to treat complex cardiac conditions.

Dr. Panchal completed an internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN, and an interventional cardiology fellowship at Columbia University at Mount Sinai Heart Institute, Miami Beach, FL. Most recently, Dr. Panchal served as an interventional cardiologist at Florida Heart Center, Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie, FL.

Dr. Waters completed his medical internship and residency at the University of California Sacramento, CA and a cardiovascular medicine fellowship at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Most recently, Dr. Waters served as a heart specialist at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

At the institute, Drs. Panchal and Waters join board certified physicians Dr. Daniel J. McGowan, interventional cardiologist and medical director; Dr. Pankaj Kulshrestha, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery; and Dr. Franz Murphy, vascular surgery. Advanced Practice Nurses Kristen Hiatt, Kirby Knuth, Lucinda Moore, Julie Pletcher and Tammy Price-Fowlkes complete the group.

The group also provides outreach heart care in several surrounding communities including Ainsworth, Basset, Cozad, Minden, Ord and northern Kansas, specifically Norton, Oberlin, Philipsburg, and Smith Center.
