HASTINGS — Roads in Adams County are nearly impassable, the county’s emergency management reported Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service – Hastings reported that Hasting’s official snow total was up to 6.3 inches, an additional 0.2 inches came after midnight.

The Adams County Road Department pulled their snowplows and motor-graders off the roads due to the whiteout conditions that occurred in the later afternoon and early evening of Monday.

Adams County Emergency Management reported that several vehicles are stuck or stranded on Highway 6 and drifts are returning shortly after being plowed due to wind gusts up to 30 mph out of the north.

Nebraska 511 showed Highway 6 being impassable from Kenesaw to Sutton.

The emergency management said that travel at this time is not advisable.
