HAMILTON CO. – A Giltner man was arrested for cruel neglect of an animal after one dog was found deceased, and another with hypothermia.
According to Hamilton County Sheriff’s office, deputies received a call Sunday afternoon on the welfare of two dogs who had been outside all weekend at a residence on the 400 block of North Enfield in Giltner.
Upon arrival, one dog was found in distress and another deceased. Deputies arrested Kevin Jemison, 60, of Giltner for cruel neglect of an animal resulting in death, and cruel neglect of animal resulting in serious injury or illness.
The agency says that surviving dog was transported to Aurora Vet Clinic in Aurora for treatment of hypothermia and thermal injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
