GRAND ISLAND — A Grand Island man reported that his identify had been stolen in Alabama to the Grand Island Police Department on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
A 23-year-old male reported to GIPD that an unknown person had used his personal information to obtain a job in at Koch Foods of Alabama in Mobile, Ala.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services had advised the victim a month ago that someone was using his personal information.
An unknown party had recently filed taxes with his information, which caused a loss of allowance for the victim to file and claim a tax return.
The victim was advised to work with the Internal Revenue Service to seek a resolution and to contact GIPD if they required any further assistance.
