GRAND ISLAND — The elevator that is several decades old in the Hall County Annex building is no longer working, said Loren “Doone” Humphrey, facilities director for Hall County.

The Hall County Annex building is the first building directly south of the Hall County Courthouse and used to house the Police and Sheriff’s Departments. It now has the Hall County Veterans’ Service office and a courtroom on the first floor.

Humphrey estimated it will cost $200,000 to fix the situation, but he needs to get estimates from elevator companies.

The Hall County Annex building was constructed in 1976, Humphrey said.
