GRAND ISLAND —Charges after not being sought after a Grand Island High School student threatened to kill a staff member while walking out of school on Monday, Jan. 29.

According to the Grand Island Police Department a juvenile male and female student were not complying with school policies and were not responding to staff.

The two students then opted to walk out of the school and while doing so, the male student threatened to kill a staff member on his way out.

The staff member did not feel it was necessary to pursue charges, police say.

The student’s guardian was notified and was released to them.
