GRAND ISLAND — Two protection order affidavits filed in Hall County District Court said that Cody Holum, 17, of Doniphan threatened extortion unless the people involved did certain things such as sharing nude photos of themselves.
Holum faces 17 felony charges including human trafficking of a minor, human trafficking, and first-degree sexual assault. A five-hour hearing concerning a motion to transfer his case to juvenile court occurred Feb. 7.
The first protection order was filed Nov. 17. The petitioner was a Doniphan resident.
“Someone was blackmailing me and told me that he (Holum) had to touch me and I didn’t want it to happen at all but was scared what was going to happen if he didn’t touch me,” the petitioner wrote. That incident occurred in June/July 2022.
In June 2023, the petitioner received a text from an unknown number telling her there were pictures and videos online and “the only way to get rid of them was to recreate it.”
In June through August of 2023, the petitioner said she found out that Holum “was behind all of the unknown numbers who contacted me.” He “pretended to be someone from Google Prevention Services and told me I had to send pictures and recreate video to get things taken down.”
In June through August of 2023, the petitioner said that Holum “threatened me saying that if I didn’t send more pictures he would post them on social media. He also told me that if I told my parents or anyone that things would get a lot worse and that I would be in a lot of trouble.” She said that Holum “blackmailed” her into participating in sexual activity with him.
In July 2023, the petitioner blocked an unknown phone number that that been used to contact her.
The mother of a Doniphan girl filed Dec. 1 for the second protection order against Holum. The girl’s age is not stated in the affidavit. The mother wrote that Holum reached out to her daughter and “asked for her to share nude photos of herself. He threatened her if she didn’t he would tell others.” This occurred in the fall of 2021.
