ELM CREEK — The Elm Creek boys basketball team got their official send off to the state basketball tournament on Wednesday, March 6.
A pep rally took place prior, with the cheerleaders emceeing a “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?” event between the basketball team and several fifth graders.
Questions ranged from statistics about the boys season, and included several chances for the boys to show off their skills at dunking, free throws and stealing the ball.
In the end the fifth graders got the better of the boys team and were presented with a sign that said, “You are NOT smarter than Elm Creek fifth graders!”
The team then boarded the bus and got an escort out of town by the Elm Creek Volunteer Fire Department
