Nebraska Husker Volleyball
HONOLULU, HAWAII. – The Nebraska beach volleyball team split a pair of matches on Friday in the Queen’s Cup on Queen’s Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Huskers opened the day with a 4-1 win over Chaminade, but fell to Saint Mary’s in the afternoon, 3-2.
In the morning win over Chaminade, Ally Batenhorst and Bergen Reilly got the Huskers (9-6) on the board at No. 1 with a 21-14, 21-11 win. Lindsay Krause and Lexi Rodriguez wrapped up their No. 2 match on top, 21-14, 21-18, and Harper Murray and Laney Choboy won their No. 4 match, 21-16, 21-10. Olivia Mauch and Andi Jackson tacked on a fourth team point with a 21-19, 15-21, 15-7 victory in the No. 5 slot.
In the afternoon match against Saint Mary’s, Krause and Rodriguez won their No. 2 match, 18-21, 21-18, 17-15. And Jackson and Mauch were three-set winners again in the No. 5 spot, 14-21, 21-15, 15-9.
The knockout rounds will begin on Saturday. The Huskers will play Pepperdine in a quarterfinal match at 2:15 p.m. CT.
