KEARNEY — A Grand Island man with a previous felony conviction was arrested for terroristic threats after threats were made against a 22-year-old woman.
On April 12, the 22-year-old reported to the Grand Island Police Department that she had received threatening text messages from Emanuel Martinez.
Officers reviewed the messages, and saw Martinez told the woman he was going to “air out,” her car, meaning he was going to shoot her vehicle.
A photo of a handgun was also sent to the woman’s phone, which she said she recognized both the gun and the bedroom in which the photo was taken. The woman said the messages and pictures caused her to be afraid for her safety.
A search warrant was prepared by officers and presented to a Hall County judge who signed it and allowed officers to enter Martinez’s residence and search for the handgun.
In the course of executing the warrant, Martinez was contacted and detained. During a search of the bedroom, the firearm in the photo was located.
The GIPD noted that Martinez has a felony conviction in Hall County.
Martinez was arrested for terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Martinez was booked into the Hall Conty Department of Corrections.
