GRAND ISLAND — A Grand Island man was arrested after cocaine was found inside of a flashlight they were carrying and attempted to hide from officers.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, officers responded to a suspicious call for service on W. 3rd St. The call advised that a male named Jacob Weddle had a gun with a laser attachment.

Upon arrival, officers recognized and observed Weddle inside the Infuse bar and would approach him. Weddle would quickly exit the bar out the back and officers would demand he stop.

Officers observed Weddle tossing an unknown object underneath a vehicle in an attempt to conceal physical evidence from law enforcement.

Weddle would eventually comply with officers demands and the object discarded was later determined to be a flashlight with a white powdery substance inside of it. The substance would later be identified as cocaine.

No weapons were located on Weddle.

Weddle would receive a medical clearance and then be arrested for tampering with physical evidence and possession of a controlled substance.

He would be booked into the Hall County Department of Corrections.
