Sunrise Middle School (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)

KEARNEY — Sunrise Middle School is proud to announce that 22 of its eighth-grade students have been recognized with the President’s Education Award, a prestigious acknowledgment of their exceptional academic achievements in middle school.

The President’s Education Awards Program celebrates students who have shown outstanding educational excellence. To qualify, students must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above through their 6th and 7th grades and the first semester of 8th grade. Additionally, they must score in the 85th percentile or higher in either math or reading on the fall Measure of Academic Progress (M.A.P.) assessments.

The students who met these rigorous criteria are: Kasson Bailey, Evan Biggs, Nataleigh Birchler, Charles Bonk, Lillica Brethour, Justus Hagemann, Noah Jameson, Sophia Lauber, Willa Lewandowski, Fulton Moyer, Olivia Narcisse, Connor Nonhof, Avery Paider, Cristian Pallares Martinez, Julio Salgado Jr, Krew Stork, Kayl Thatcher, Connor Thiel, Drew Weides, Payton Willrich, Kierra Wilson, and Izabellah Zachek

“We are incredibly proud of these students for their dedication to excellence in their academic pursuits,” said Mark Johnson, principal of Sunrise Middle School. “This award not only reflects their hard work but also the support of our teachers and families in helping each student reach their fullest potential.”
