NEBRASKA – Tuesday proved to be a battle of elements across all classes in the Boys Golf State Championships.

The only class not affected by the statewide weather was Class B in Scottsbluff, as York currently sits second, shooting a Round One total of 321, ten strokes behind leader Norris.

In Class A at Norfolk, Kearney High sits seventh after a first round at 325. Class D at North Platte has reigning champion Overton leading the pack three strokes ahead of Hitchcock County at 336, while Loomis sits third and Lawrence-Nelson seventh. Loomis’ Tyson Essex shot an even 72 to lead the individual scoring as well.

Class C in Columbus was delayed completely to a one-day, 18 hole event for today. Area teams competing include Amherst, GICC, Kearney Catholic, St. Paul, and Doniphan-Trumbull.
