LEXINGTON — A Lexington woman has been arrested for motor vehicle homicide and driving under the influence after she fatally struck her partner with a vehicle following an argument on Sunday, June 2.
At 4:30 a.m., officers with the Lexington Police Department responded to the report of a traffic accident involving a pedestrian in the southeast area of the community.
Upon arrival, officers and members of the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department immediately provided emergency aid.
The pedestrian was identified as Yuniesky Diaz Gomez, 38, who was transported to Lexington Regional Health Center with life threatening injuries. According to LPD Chief Paul Schwarz, Diaz Gomez would later succumb to his injuries.

Diaz Gomez stepped in front of the vehicle in an attempt to prevent her from leaving and was struck by the moving vehicle.
The initial investigation, aided by the LVFD and Dawson County Sheriff’s Office is currently ongoing. An autopsy has been tentatively scheduled for Monday, June 3.
Chief Schwarz said that Almanza Siles has been arrested on charges of motor vehicle homicide and driving under the influence. The LPD continues to conduct follow up investigations into the fatal incident.
