KEARNEY — The City of Kearney Public Works Department announces that on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 lane closures will be implemented near the intersection of 56th Street and 11th Avenue to allow for traffic signal work.
56th Street will be reduced to one-lane in each direction, with traffic being shifted to the southernmost lanes of the roadway. 11th Avenue north, between 56th Street and 57th Street will be completely closed to traffic.
Business and residential access north of 56th Street on 11th Avenue will need to utilize Spruce Hollow Boulevard from 4th Avenue. 11th Avenue south of 56th Street will be reduced to right-in/right-out turning movements only.
The work is expected to be completed by the end of the day at which time all lanes will be reopened.
Motorists are asked to slow down, use caution when traveling around the work zone, and to watch for construction workers and equipment.
