GRAND ISLAND — A man was arrested in Grand Island for kidnapping a woman and threatening her with a knife during the morning hours of Thursday, Nov. 7.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, officers responded to Villa Mar Dee in reference to a domestic disturbance call for service.

Officers later learned by Hector Martinez Perez had struck his intimate partner in the face during an argument, which caused the woman bodily injury.

It was reported that Perez then grabbed a knife and threatened to kill the woman, before forcing her into a vehicle to take her to a different location, while still in possession of the knife.

At the separate location, Perez is reported to have restrained the woman inside physically. As the argument progressed, the GIPD says that Perez raised the knife above the woman as if he was going to stab her.

A third party was able to convince Perez to give her the knife.

Perez would be arrested for third degree domestic assault, attempted first degree domestic assault, two counts of terroristic threats, kidnapping and the use of a weapon to commit a felony.
