KEARNEY — Kearney Public Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Ashley Palu as the new Assistant Principal at Northeast Elementary School.

Palu will begin her role in the 2024-2025 school year, succeeding Amber Taylor, who has been promoted to Principal of Northeast Elementary.

Palu brings a wealth of experience and dedication to education, having started her teaching career in 2010 in Shelton, NE, where she taught Kindergarten and First Grade for two years. In 2012, she returned to Kearney Public Schools, teaching at Park Elementary in the very same classroom where she once completed her student teaching.

I am deeply grateful to be stepping into the role of assistant principal at Northeast Elementary. This opportunity represents a new chapter in my educational journey. I am eager to serve the students, staff, and families of Northeast and contribute to its tradition of excellence.

Amber Taylor, the current Assistant Principal at Northeast Elementary, shared her thoughts on Palu’s appointment: “Ashley is an exceptional educator who brings enthusiasm and positivity. She is passionate about building strong relationships with students, families, and teachers. She is committed to the academic and social-emotional growth and well-being of students. I have no doubt she will thrive in this role and continue Northeast Elementary’s tradition of excellence.”

The district extends its gratitude to Amber Taylor for her contributions as Assistant Principal and looks forward to her leadership as Principal of Northeast Elementary School. Palu and Taylor will begin their new positions in the fall.
