CURTIS — The arraignment of a Maywood Public Schools teacher charged with sexual abuse of students has been continued until next year.

Nicholas High, 29, of Bertrand, has been charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse by a school employee, a Class 2A felony and three counts of third-degree sexual abuse by a school employee, a Class 4 felony.

High’s arraignment in Frontier County Court had been scheduled for Dec. 6, but his counsel filed a motion for continuance which was granted by Judge Anne Paine.

The new arraignment date has been set for Jan. 3, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.

The arrest affidavit detailing the charges has been sealed by the Frontier County Court, but the alleged crimes occurred between August 2020 and May 2022 and involved three victims, according to the complaint filed on Nov. 22.

High was listed on the Maywood Public Schools website as a physical education teacher and coach.
