GRAND ISLAND – The Grand Island Public Schools Board of Education voted 8-0 Dec. 17 to close Seedling Mile Elementary School for the 2025-26 school year and to have the school’s attendance area become part of the attendance area for Dodge Elementary School.
Board of Education member Dave Hulinsky was absent. The meeting lasted close to one hour. Superintendent Matt Fisher said it is not likely that the school will reopen after the 2025-26 school year.
The Board of Education meeting room was filled with teachers, parents, students, and staff from the school.
