HASTINGS — The Hastings Public Schools Board of Education has announced that Christopher Prososki will be the district’s next superintendent.
A special board meeting has been set for Feb. 6 for the board to appoint the new superintendent, effective July 1, 2025.
Prososki is the current superintendent of Southern Public Schools and has held the position since 2017. He takes over the position from Jeff Schneider who had 31 years with the district, six of those he served as superintendent.
The other finalists announced were Josh Cumpston, Superintendent at Fillmore Central Public Schools; John Hauser, Director of Learning and Support at Hastings Public Schools and Joel Ruybalid, Superintendent at Blue Hill Public Schools.
Over the summer, McPherson & Jacobson, the hiring firm the district has worked with, will work with the Prososki and Hastings Board of Education to establish measurable performance goals for 2025-26 and beyond.
