GRAND ISLAND — A disturbance at El Tabares Bar and Grill in Grand Island resulted in the arrests of four men for various offenses, including assault, terroristic threats and resisting arrest.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, on Monday, Feb. 17 at 12:38 a.m., officers responded to the area of 4th and Pine St. due to multiple reports of a disturbance.
When officers arrived on scene, they placed three males under arrest who were identified as Leonardo Rivas, Ildefonzo Munoz Diaz, and Jose Luis Munos-Diaz.
While detaining Jose Luis Munos-Diaz, would attempt to pull away from officers. It had also been reported by a man that he had been assaulted by Jose inside the bar.
Ildefonzo Munoz Diaz would also attempt to pull away from officers and refuse verbal commands.
When officers were in the process of detaining Leonardo Rivas, who would also pull away and refuse commands, a small bag of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine was discovered.
While investigating the disturbance, officers would view video footage that showed a fourth male, later identified as Timothy Rivas, pointing and holding a gun at an adult male. Rivas would be located at the scene and arrested.
While being placed under arrest, a small amount of marijuana, less than one ounce, was also discovered.
Leonardo Rivas was arrested for assault – cause bodily injury to a person, resisting arrest – second offense and obstructing a peace officer.
Ildefonzo Munoz Diaz was arrested for obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest – first offense.
Jose Munoz Diaz was arrested for assault – cause bodily injury to a person, obstruct a peace officer and possession of a controlled substance.
Timothy Rivas was arrested for terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of marijuana – less than one ounce, second offense.
