KEARNEY – Ten University of Nebraska at Kearney students have been selected as members of the 2025 Nebraska Intercollegiate Band.

They’ll perform 11:30 a.m. March 8 in the ballroom of the Graduate Hotel in Lincoln as part of the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association’s annual conference. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Nebraska Intercollegiate Band includes outstanding music students from colleges and universities across the state. They spend time rehearsing together in Lincoln before performing for the public. This year’s ensemble is led by guest conductor Emily Threinen, director of bands at the University of Minnesota.

Students representing UNK include:

  • Alliance – Aiden Zaro, percussion
  • Cheyenne, Wyoming – Emily Schwaiger, clarinet
  • Elm Creek – Chloe Harms, euphonium
  • Kearney – Daniel McCarty, trumpet
  • Kearney – Ike Smith, trumpet
  • Kearney – Jacob Temme, trombone
  • Kearney – Avery Reitz, string bass
  • Minden – Evan Porter, percussion
  • Ravenna – Kaia Johnson, flute
  • Wray, Colorado – Benjamin Prentice, trombone
