WESTERVILLE — Weather permitting, work will begin May 5 on U.S. Highway 183 (US-183), from reference post 99.01 to reference post 106.38, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
General Excavating, LLC, of Lincoln, is the contractor for this project. Work includes bridge repair and asphalt overlays on three bridges. Traffic will be maintained with lane restrictions and temporary traffic signals.
A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is June 2025.
The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
