GRAND ISLAND — A jury trial date has been set for a Grand Island man charged with first degree sexual assault of a child in Hall County District Court.

Kristopher Snyder, 35, is charged with first degree sexual assault of a child, a Class 1B felony and committing intentional child abuse – no injury, a Class 3A felony.

After entering a not guilty plea on May 20, a jury trial was scheduled to start on Sept. 8 at 9 a.m. There were also two pre-trial hearings set for July 1 at 2:30 a.m. and Aug. 4 at 11:30 a.m.

Snyder filed bail in the amount of $9,000 on May 5.

According to an affidavit submitted in the case, a 16-year-old girl reported to the Grand Island Police Department that in November 2024, when she was 15 years old, she has been sexually assaulted by a 34-year-old man, who was determined to by Snyder.

The girl reported going to the home of Snyder in Grand Island and while there he asked her to go into the bedroom. They watched videos and Snyder asked the 15-year-old to read a sexually explicit story and then asked if she was sexually aroused.

Snyder would subject the 15-year-old to sexual penetration, but she would leave the room. It was reported that Snyder offered to pay her for forgiveness.

During the police interview, the girl would call Snyder and while the call was being recorded, Snyder allegedly admitted to his actions. He also confirmed he knew that she was only 15 years old at the time of the assault.

Snyder would be located at his work and arrested.
