Former UNK Cornerback Gabriel Amegatcher was signed to the IFL’s Iowa Barnstormers earlier this month.
Originally from Romeoville, Ill., Amegatcher appeared in 21 games for UNK between 2019-2022. During his time with the Lopers, he recorded 38 tackles, 12 pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, one interception and one forced fumble. He then transferred to Division I Northern Illinois for the 2023 season. He appeared in all 13 games for the Huskies, recording five tackles, one of which was in their 35-11 loss against Nebraska.
Amegatcher did not appear in Iowa’s 52-32 loss last week at the Green Bay Blizzard. In that contest, former Loper QB TJ Davis had three rushes for 24 yards for the Blizzard, while catching two passes for 39 yards with a touchdown.
The Barnstormers are at home this weekend against the 4-5 Massachusetts Pirates.
