HAMILTON CO. — On Saturday, June 28 at 1:33 p.m. the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a witness reporting a motor vehicle accident on A Road between 3 and 4 Roads.
The Giltner Fire Department arrived on scene and observed a male walking away from the vehicle into a farm field and heard gunshots and thought the individual was shooting into the air.
The Nebraska State Patrol arrived on scene and heard another gunshot. Law enforcement established a perimeter and searched the area with drones, NSP aircraft and on foot.
At this point the only known law violation is leaving the scene of a property damage accident. The person observed walking away from the crash was a male wearing a black shirt.
Law enforcement will continue to monitor the area, but at this time no one has been located. Please call 911 to report any suspicious persons.
