Power outage impacts area of north Kearney for several hours on Sunday

KEARNEY — A power outage impacted parts of north Kearney for several hours on Sunday, June 29.

According to the Nebraska Public Power District, around 33 customers near the 4700 block of 2nd Ave. lost power starting at 11:42 a.m.

Businesses in the 4700 block includes Marshalls, Pet Smart, Ross Dress for Less and Five Below.

Per NPPD, the cause of the outage was a bad component in the underground wiring that serves the impacted customers in the area.

Power was restored to the area around 6:10 p.m.
