KEARNEY — The Little League State Tourney will be hosted by Kearney Little League at Patriot Park from July 11-13 and July 18-21, 2025.
“Little League baseball came to Kearney in 1952, and over the past 74 years has given thousands
of area players the opportunity to engage in our national pastime. A lucky few players each year have the opportunity to represent our league in the State Tournament, and I know that these
players always look forward to the chance of playing against the best from Nebraska’s other leagues,” according to Todd Herges with Kearney Little League.
Herges said children age six to 15 can compete in the little league with eight different age divisions, some being single age categories.
Two divisions go to the state tournament, the 10-year-olds and the 11- and 12-year-olds.
Kearney is one of the host sites of the 2025 Nebraska Little League State Tournament finals, Herges said, adding that this was the fifth time since 2000 Kearney had hosted.
“Kearney Little League is pleased to be able to host the State Tournament this year for just the fifth time this century, and speaking on behalf of the 500 plus players and the many volunteers who serve as managers, coaches, and board members, we hope you enjoy your time at the tournament, and that – win or lose – you will always do your best, and make lifelong, happy memories at this year’s state tournament,” said Herges.
The tournament site will be Patriot Park, which opened in Kearney in 2017 and features four baseball fields, among others.

“The objective of Kearney Little League is to provide a baseball program that will implant firmly in children of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority, so that they may be well-adjusted, stronger, and happier children and will grow to be good, decent, healthy, and trustworthy citizens,” per the Nebraska Little League website.
