2024 Kearney Cruise Nite Show and Shine Event, (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)

KEARNEY — The 38th Annual Cruise Nite Week features a full slate of events across Kearney throughout the week of Tuesday, July 15 to Sunday, July 20.

Tuesday, July 15

  • 5 p.m. -7:30 p.m. – Show and Shine, Blueprint Engines, 2915 Marshall Ave., food trucks on site, plant tours available.

Wednesday, July 16

  • 6 p.m. -7:30 p.m. – Classic Car Tour, area assisted living and nursing homes, including Central Nebraska Veterans Home. Meet at Frist Baptist Church, former Kearney High School parking lot. Tour concludes at Petersen Senior Center parking lot with ice cream and live music with Melinda Feree.

Thursday, July 17

  • 5 p.m. -7:30 p.m. – Show and Shine, Midway Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 219 Second Ave., oldies music and food available.
  • 8 p.m. -10 p.m. – Billy McGuigan 60s Dance Party, Live Music, Merryman Performing Arts Center, 225 W. 22nd St.

Friday, July 18

  • 5 p.m. -7:30 p.m. – Show and Shine, Great Platte River Road Archway, 3060 E. 1st St. Food trucks and free shuttle spectator parking available.
  • 7 p.m. -10:30 p.m. – Classic and Collectible Car Auction, Expo Building, Buffalo County Fairgrounds, Rusty Rhynalds, auctioneer.

Saturday, July 19

  • 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Registration for Show and Shine, The Bricks, downtown Kearney.
  • 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Kid Friendly Cool Car Carnival, Hilltop Mall parking lot. Kids can explore firetrucks, police cars, etc.
  • 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. – Show and Shine, The Bricks, downtown Kearney, large food court and vendors.
  • 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Eagle Riders Bike Show, Eagles Club parking lot and street in front
  • 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. – Cruise Nite Parade, assemble on Railroad St. and then north of Central Ave. to Good Samaritan Hospital.
  • 4 – 11 p.m. – NHRA Drag Races, Kearney Raceway Park, featuring jet race car and 10 Funny cars, small tire competition.

Sunday, July 20

  • 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. – NHRA Drag Races, Kearney Raceway Park
  • 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Show and Shine, American Automobile Experience, 3600 Highway 30, Suite B. Hamburger and hot dog meals available, proceeds benefit UNK Wrestling Team.
