The Tri-City Storm will be looking for their third head coach within a year, and will be doing so under a new General Manager of Hockey Operations.

Marco Treviño announced yesterday that he was leaving the Storm to be an assistant coach with Robert Morris University. Treviño was named head coach in December after the Storm fired Mark Abalan, who went 11-10-2-1 in his partial season. The Storm finished the season 29-29-3-1, while qualifying for the USHL playoffs.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Marco Treviño to the RMU Hockey family,” said RMU Hockey head coach Derek Schooley in a press release yesterday. “His expertise in individual skill development and elite junior coaching is a huge asset, especially for player development and recruiting. Marco’s commitment to his athletes will ensure our players smoothly transition, excel, and maximize their potential both on and off the ice at RMU.”

Today the Storm announced Keith Morris as the team’s new General Manager of Hockey Operations. Before coming to Nebraska, Morris served as General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations for the Anchorage Wolverines in the NAHL.

“I am humbled and honored to be named General Manager of the Tri-City Storm. The Storm have a tremendous legacy in the USHL and have built a first class program, both on and off the ice.” Morris said, “I want to thank the ownership in the confidence in me moving forward in leading the Hockey Operations for the Storm. We will put an exciting team on the ice that the Tri-Cities and all of Central Nebraska will be proud of.”

Keith has spent the better part of his career in hockey operations growing the sport in Alaska. He has served as an Assistant Coach at the University of Alaska Anchorage, as well as program director of the South Anchorage Hockey Association.

We are thrilled to welcome Keith to the Tri-City Storm organization. Storm President Mark Jalcovik shared, “Keith is the perfect choice to lead our hockey operations. He is a proven winner and is committed to building the Tri-City Storm to be highly competitive next season and beyond. Keith is passionate about bringing in the next wave of players to the Storm and the USHL, the greatest developmental league in the world.”

The 2025-26 Tri-City Storm Hockey season will get underway on September 26th, when the Storm welcome the Omaha Lancers to the Viaero Center.
