KEARNEY — On Sunday, July 27, 2025, at approximately 3:22 a.m., Kearney Police Officers and CHI Good Samaritan paramedics responded to the area of 1800 Avenue A following a medical call involving a male with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a confrontation had taken place during a party at 1815 Avenue A. During the confrontation, several shots were fired by multiple individuals, resulting in a 30-year-old male from Kearney being shot in both legs.
This male was transported to CHI Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
As KPD investigators continue to investigate this shooting, it appears this was not a random act of violence but rather a result of the confrontation. This incident is still under investigation.
