Kearney Police Department on scene of the two vehicle accident at 2nd Ave. and 29th St., (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)
KEARNEY — A vehicle ran a red light and caused an accident on 2nd Ave. during the morning hours of Thursday, July 31.
Around 8:15 a.m., the Kearney Police Department and emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of 2nd Ave. and 29th St. in reference to an accident with injury.
On scene, a Chevrolet Tahoe with minor front-end damage had come to rest facing north on 2nd Ave. A white Toyota four door car was facing southeast on 2nd with light front-end damage.
According to Lt. Derek Luke with KPD, the Tahoe was northbound on 2nd Ave. and had a green light when the Toyota ran the red light from 29th St., which resulted in the collision.
Lt. Luke said there were no injuries that required transport.
The accident remains under investigation by the KPD.
