KEARNEY, GRAND ISLAND — U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in health care rankings and ratings, released its 2025-2026 Best Hospitals rankings on July 29. Of the 99 Nebraska hospitals assessed, only three outside of Lincoln and Omaha received distinctions, according to the announcement.
CHI Health Good Samaritan was recognized as a High Performing Hospital in the specialties of knee replacement, stroke and pneumonia. Additionally, CHI Health St. Francis achieved a High Performing Hospital ranking for pneumonia.
U.S. News bestows its highest distinction, “High Performing Hospitals” rating, upon hospitals that demonstrate performance in a particular procedure or condition significantly exceeding the national average. Based on more than 800 million patient care records, this specialty rating indicates better patient outcomes as determined by patient survival rates, nurse staffing levels, infection rates and more.
