KEARNEY — On Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at approximately 8:45 a.m., members of the joint Kearney Police Department/Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit (ESU) served an arrest warrant at a residence in the East Lawn Mobile Home Park neighborhood, located at 2900
Grand Avenue.
The Buffalo County warrant was issued for a 30-year-old Kearney man on charges of two counts of Felony Child Abuse, one count of Felony Strangulation, one count of Felony Terroristic Threats and one count of Felony Intentional Cruelty to an Animal.
Due to the nature of the investigation and charges, the ESU team was utilized to ensure the safety of officers, residents, and the surrounding community. The arrest was made without incident, and the suspect was taken into custody.
