GRAND ISLAND – Hall County Commissioners approved the county’s 2025-2026 budget at a special meeting Sept. 24.
Board Chairman Ron Peterson said that the budget was approved by a 4-2 vote. Commissioners Gary Quandt and Karen Bredthauer voted against the motion. Commissioner Jane Richardson was absent from the meeting, Peterson said.
According to documents provided with the agenda for the Sept. 24 meeting, the 2025-2026 tax asking per $100,000 of valuation will be $400.03, compared to $407.34 in 2024-2025.
The total 2025-2026 property tax request is $29,078,344, which includes General Fund ($24,409,611), Museum Fund ($980,933), and Courthouse Bond Fund ($3,687,800).
The total operating budget for the county will exceed last year’s budget by 2.57 percent.
Total General Fund expenses from the budget are $43,239,469.
