HASTINGS — Colorado Avenue is scheduled to close to through traffic between South Street and south of the BNSF Railway crossing for private sanitary sewer and water services beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2.
The work of removing concrete, placing the sanitary sewer pipe, placing the water service and pouring back concrete is expected to take two weeks. The new concrete will have to cure for another week. The schedule is to open the street on Monday, October 27.
Tewey Construction is performing the work and working with local property owners. Local traffic to businesses will be maintained.
