GRAND ISLAND – The grand opening for Target at 3400 W. 13th St. was Oct. 12.
The parking lot was full at mid-afternoon Oct. 12, and checkstand lines were long.
“The new Target store adds growth and impact to the City’s thriving retail economy. Target saw a great opportunity by locating its store at Conestoga Marketplace. The addition of Target is just the latest in a series of improvements to our Mall area. In just a few years our Mall has gone from being in distress to now being a vibrant center for shopping and entertainment. I welcome Target to Grand Island, and I thank them for seeing the opportunity Grand Island provides for growth,” Grand Island Mayor Roger Steele said.
The store is located on the south side of the Conestoga Marketplace location.
The 148,000-square-foot store has approximately 140 employees and offers fresh groceries, essentials, Apple at Target and more.
Store hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The Grand Island store features fresh and affordable produce, meat, and dairy, as well as everyday essentials and pantry staples, in a 16,000-square-foot area.
The store has an Apple at Target shop-in-shop, CVS Pharmacy, and Starbucks Café.
Customers can shop on their own terms with Target’s convenient same-day delivery via Target Circle 360, as well as free drive-up and order pickup services. Those are ready within a couple of hours with no membership required for the easiest shopping experience in retail.
The Grand Island opening is part of Target’s commitment to build more than 300 new stores over the next decade. It is one of seven Target stores opening this fall.
The ribbon cutting for Target was Oct. 7. Eryn Larssen is the store director.
The Grand Island Building Department issued a building permit for Target on Aug. 23, 2024, for $17.5 million.
