HASTINGS — Drinking fountains and older parks restrooms will close on Friday Oct. 31, 2025 for the winter; but five heated restrooms will remain open as long into the winter season as possible.
Hastings Parks and Recreation staff are winterizing restrooms at the following parks:
- Brickyard Park
- Carter Park
- Highland Park
- Libs Park
- Oswego Park
- Rec Fields
Restrooms at Chautauqua Park, Crosier Park, Heartwell Park, Lake Hastings and Lincoln Park have small, electric heaters that allow them to stay open longer than the older restrooms.
However, even newer restrooms cannot withstand severe winter cold temperatures.
The City of Hastings will inform the public when these heated restrooms close for the season. Please take the closures into consideration when planning outdoor gatherings at the parks over the winter season.
